I am a neuropsychologist in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. I own and operate a private practice that specializes in the assessment and treatment of children, teens, adults, and families. I have over 15 years of education and experience gathered from several major hospitals and community settings in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Nova Scotia. In addition, I work at the IWK Health Centre and I am an adjunct clinical associate at Dalhousie University.
As a neuropsychologist, I conduct comprehensive assessments with young people and adults who have difficulties with attention, learning, memory, language, problem solving, and other thinking (or “cognitive”) skills. Sometimes these difficulties arise from medical or neurological conditions such as traumatic brain injuries (TBI), attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), strokes, tumours, or genetic disorders. For others, there is no clear cause or reason. This is often true for children and youth who are struggling in school despite being bright in other areas of their life. A neuropsychological assessment provides a comprehensive profile of a person’s strengths and weaknesses and tells you what can be done to help.
